Since 2023, I have been releasing club music on labels within the UK bass scene under the moniker unearth.

‘unearth is a figure in the experimental club landscape that utilises song structure as their main tool in creating cinematic, high impact music. Drawing from influences within the hardcore continuum, progressive metal and game audio design, unearth crafts a uniquely gripping emotional experience through barren wastes, with the future just peering through the clouds. Reflective of the complexity of the world and the alienation of it’s subjects, unearth attempts to transport the listener to a scene where complex emotions between despair and hope are equally valued and affirmed.

With forthcoming releases on Different Circles (Mumdance, Logos), unearth will attempt to utilise a musical framework described as ‘ping’ by it’s proponents, an online community of like-minded club enjoyers. This approach is demonstrated by artists such as Chevel, Mumdance, Beton Brut & 6amsunset. 

Leading up to this have been EPs on Impey’s Ghost Notes Worldwide label as nosync and the flourishing Plasma Sources label run by Hypna which saw a twisted collision of metal and club music. Through heavy atmosphere and ambience these two seemingly disparate genres aligned and created Soundsystem Music.

unearth aims to bring a radical sense of hope to their next body of work, to be felt in the club and at home. The times call for unity more than ever, but first we need a clear mind.’
